How the Canary Islands - Málaga route works

The circuit is always the same, only the departure island changes: we collect from your home, consolidate in a container at the island port and ship to Puerto de Cádiz, the nearest peninsular point to the archipelago. From there the cargo goes by road to Málaga via cross-dock, with no intermediate storage. Transit is around 8 days from shipment, with weekly departures.

Compared to inland mainland destinations, Málaga has a concrete advantage: the land leg from Cádiz is short, so neither the timeframe nor the price is burdened with a half-peninsula journey. If your removal goes the other way, you have removals from Málaga to the Canary Islands.

Which islands we operate from

We cover the eight routes, each with its own departure operation:

• Tenerife to Málaga — departure via Santa Cruz, with our own base and warehouse on the island.
• Gran Canaria to Málaga — departure via Puerto de La Luz, with weekly departures.
• Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Málaga — pickup in the capital, with route reservation and elevator.
• Lanzarote to Málaga — departure via Los Mármoles, also local and hospitality removals.
• Fuerteventura to Málaga — departure via Puerto del Rosario, with packing for sports equipment.
• La Palma to Málaga — access assessed in the quote due to the island's topography.
• La Gomera to Málaga — inter-island link via Tenerife with our own temporary storage facility.
• El Hierro to Málaga — link from La Estaca, with realistic date based on frequencies.

In La Gomera and El Hierro you must account for the inter-island link: the cargo passes through Tenerife, where the container waits in our facilities instead of at the dock.

Where we deliver in Málaga

We deliver throughout the province of Málaga —capital, western Costa del Sol (Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, Estepona), Axarquía (Vélez-Málaga, Torre del Mar, Nerja) and interior (Antequera, Ronda, Álora, Coín)— and also in Granada and Almería, including the Tropical Coast (Motril, Almuñécar) and Almería's Poniente (Roquetas de Mar, El Ejido). It is the same circuit: the cargo enters via Cádiz and is distributed along the southern Mediterranean arc.

Two things are always planned from the quote and not on delivery day: the Low Emission Zone and loading schedules in the capital, and access permits and community hours in closed urbanizations on the coast. That is where we determine which vehicle does the last mile.

Groupage or exclusive container

For a one or two-bedroom apartment, groupage: you share a container and pay for the actual volume you occupy. For a complete home or with a set delivery date, the exclusive container, which does not wait for consolidation to be completed. From Tenerife and Gran Canaria groupages are completed sooner, due to traffic volume; from the smaller islands it is advisable to allow for more margin.

Procedures: DUA and VAT exemption

Taking your belongings out of the Canary Islands requires DUA and customs clearance. If you move due to change of habitual residence, you can claim VAT exemption on used personal property, meeting requirements and deadlines.
