Assembly and disassembly of furniture in the Canary Islands
Specialized team in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, with labeled hardware for each piece of furniture. With moving service or separately.
The assembly and disassembly of furniture is the part of the move that causes the most problems when done in a hurry: screws that disappear, fittings that get stripped and wardrobes that no longer close properly. At Horizont Atlantic we do it as our own service in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, as part of your move or separately, with specialized equipment, proper tools and fasteners labeled furniture by furniture. More than 15 years disassembling and reassembling everything, including furniture that "cannot be disassembled".

What the service includes
- Disassembly at origin: we disassemble what doesn't fit through doors, stairs or elevator, and what travels better in pieces.
- Labeling and fastener bags per furniture, so that nothing is missing at destination and there's no need to improvise with whatever is found.
- Protection of pieces: edges, doors, glass and mirrors are packaged separately.
- Assembly at destination and placement in the room you indicate, with leveling and adjustment of doors and drawers.
- Removal of packaging leftover when finished.
If the move crosses the sea, disassembly stops being optional for many pieces of furniture: it reduces the volume you pay for in the container and prevents large pieces from suffering from the movement of the voyage.
What furniture we disassemble and assemble
Wardrobes and dressing rooms
With hinged or sliding doors, with interior modules. The built-in wardrobes and those with sliding doors are the ones that require the most skill: the track and the plumb are the difference between closing properly or never closing again.
Beds and sofas
Box springs, fold-out sofas, bunk beds and headboards. Sofas with gas fittings are disassembled with the system locked, never by hand.
Tables and chairs
Extendable dining tables, desks, glass tables with removable base.
Living room furniture and bookshelves
Stackable modules, wall-anchored shelves and custom compositions.
Kitchens and bathrooms
Upper and lower cabinets, countertops and tall units. Here we coordinate with plumbing and electrical work: we disassemble the furniture, we don't handle installations.
Modular assembly furniture
Compositions like Ikea or similar have their technique: the dowels and levers don't allow for two careless assemblies without becoming loose.
Also without a move
You don't need to move to hire it. We do separate services for assembly of new furniture just purchased, disassembly for renovation or remodeling —to clear a room and reassemble it later—, and internal moves within the same home or local business. If the furniture has to leave the building and doesn't fit through the stairs, we combine it with the furniture lift.
Why you shouldn't do it yourself
A wardrobe that's poorly disassembled almost never breaks during disassembly: it breaks when reassembling it a second time. Chipboard and melamine boards allow a limited number of assemblies before levers and dowels stop gripping. Additionally, there are three errors that always repeat:
- Mix the fasteners from all furniture in a single bag. At destination it becomes a two-hour puzzle.
- Over-disassemble. There are pieces that shouldn't be separated: each unnecessary disassembly weakens the furniture.
- Tighten with a screwdriver at maximum force. It's the fastest way to strip a fitting and leave it loose forever.
If you still prefer to handle part of it yourself, in the guide on how to pack furniture so it doesn't get damaged during the move you have the criteria we follow.
Where we work
We serve Tenerife —metropolitan area of Santa Cruz and La Laguna, north and south of the island— and Gran Canaria —Las Palmas, Telde, Santa Lucía de Tirajana and the south—. On the rest of the islands we provide it associated with a move.
Price
It's calculated by time and number of workers, and depends on the type of furniture: a bed is not the same as a custom wardrobe or a complete kitchen. As a reference, a separate service of a couple of hours with two workers is the usual minimum, and from there it adjusts to the volume of work. When it's part of a move, assembly and disassembly are already included in the closed quote: it's not billed separately.
Tell us what furniture it is, what floor it's on and if there's an elevator, and we'll give you an exact price with no obligation.
