What is the route and how long does it take?

Your move from the Canary Islands to Sweden travels mainly by sea in a container. From the ports of Santa Cruz de Tenerife or Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the shipment sails to a northern European port and, from there, continues by road to the destination address in Sweden, whether that is Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö or anywhere else.

The indicative transit time is several weeks. It is not a fixed figure: it depends on how often the ships sail, on whether you travel by groupage or in a dedicated container, on customs clearance times and on the final road distance within Sweden. Customs and paperwork

There is one point here worth explaining with complete transparency, because many people are unaware of it: although Sweden is part of the European Union, the Canary Islands sit outside the EU customs union and outside EU VAT. The islands are a special territory. This means that your move, even though it leaves Spanish territory and arrives in another EU country, still goes through an export clearance in the Canary Islands and an import clearance in Sweden.

This is not something you have to sort out yourself, nor anything to worry about: we manage it from start to finish. Options: groupage, dedicated container and air

Not every move has the same volume or the same urgency, so we tailor the option to your specific case:

• Sea groupage (shared container): your shipment travels alongside those of other clients in the same container. It is the most economical option and ideal if you are moving a moderate volume - the contents of a flat, for example - and can work around the scheduled sailing dates.
• Dedicated container: the whole container is yours. It is the best choice when the volume is large (a complete home), when you prefer greater control over timings, or when you want to minimise intermediate handling of your furniture.
• Air freight: reserved for what is urgent or essential. Faster and with a higher cost per kilo, perfect for getting the essentials there ahead of the bulk that travels by sea.
