In principle, we will endeavour to carry out the move within the loading and unloading hours permitted in the city centre zone, without needing to apply for a reservation of public road space. Only when the scale of the move is particularly large will we request this permit, which, depending on the local authority, typically takes around 7–10 days to be granted.
This is a very important question, and the answer may surprise you — what seems cheaper at first glance often is not.
To help clarify, we distinguish between fragile items (fine glassware, kitchenware, electronics and decorative objects) and non-fragile items (bedding, clothing, books, etc.). Whenever a move takes place, the hired company must guarantee the condition of all items delivered inside boxes. For this reason, packing fragile items is always carried out by our team, ensuring their integrity throughout transit. Clients may choose whether or not to add our packing service for non-fragile items (clothing, books, toys, etc.).
Common sense tells us we should request quotes from at least three or four removal companies that appear at the top of whichever search engine we use.
However, we need to be wary of web portals that advertise non-specialist companies offering discounts of up to 60% right off the bat. The policy of these companies is to subcontract all services to bogus self-employed workers with no accountability or experience whatsoever. As a result, quality suffers almost as much as the price.

This is perhaps the best indicator of a professional company. If a family member or friend recommends a company, it means they were satisfied with the work carried out. Trust those recommendations.
There are several factors that make a move more or less affordable.
Service dates.
The most expensive months are the summer months from June to September; outside this period your move can cost around 25% less compared to those months.
Pedestrian zones:
Rather than a difficulty, this is a constraint on the time window available for the move. In city-centre areas, for example, access for removal lorries is restricted to certain zones between 8 and 11 in the morning only.
Narrow stairwells and lifts.
This can indeed be the factor that makes a move significantly more complex and requires a larger crew. It is commonly found in older buildings where lifts are small — designed for 2 to 4 people — or where the stairwells are excessively narrow.

That said, after 15 years of experience we have found that most of the jobs we are asked for tend to fall on Fridays and Saturdays, and on the days close to the end of the month.
In addition, the sector also has a peak season of high demand, running from May to August. For all these reasons, we recommend that our clients book their service in advance.
The recommended estimated booking lead times are as follows.
Moves during the last and first week of the month:
If you would prefer to move at the beginning or end of the month, it is advisable to confirm the date at least 20 days in advance, so as to secure the availability of the removal company you have hired.
Moves between the 10th and the 20th of each month:
If you plan to move between the 10th and the 20th of the chosen month, we recommend booking at least 7-10 days in advance, since availability of removal companies is greater during those days.
Weekend jobs:
It is worth noting that these days usually see the highest number of booking requests for removal services. Once you have received the quote and decided to hire your move with Horizont Atlantic, it is advisable to let us know so we can reserve the day. Ideally, this confirmation should be made at least 1-3 weeks in advance.

Yes. At the origin we dismantle any furniture that requires it (wardrobes, beds, tables, shelving units) and reassemble it at the destination, placing it wherever you want. It is included unless you tell us otherwise.
Yes. In buildings without a lift or with narrow staircases —common in the old town of La Laguna or in El Toscal— we use a furniture hoist to move items up or down through the window or balcony in complete safety. We assess this during the prior visit.
