What is the route and how long does it take?

The Canary Islands and Norway lie at two extremes of Europe, so the backbone of the move is sea freight by container. Step by step, the process works like this:

• Collection and packing at your home in southern Gran Canaria or southern Tenerife.
• Consolidation and export clearance at the ports of Santa Cruz de Tenerife or Las Palmas.
• Sea crossing to a northern European port.
• Onward delivery by road and ferry to the final address in Norway, with import clearance already sorted.

The indicative transit time is several weeks and depends on the option chosen (groupage or a dedicated container), on the frequency of sailings and on the exact delivery point within Norway: Oslo or Bergen is not the same as a town in the far north of the country. For tight deadlines there is the air option, faster but more expensive, normally reserved for urgent or low-volume shipments. We always give you a realistic forecast of dates before you commit, rather than a promise we cannot keep.

Customs and paperwork

This is where we bring the most peace of mind and where we want to be completely honest. Norway is not part of the European Union, so a Canary Islands to Norway removal involves two customs procedures: an export clearance in the Canary Islands and an import clearance on entry into Norway. We handle and process both, together with our agents.

We will not invent figures for duties, taxes or exemptions, because they depend on your particular circumstances: whether it is a change of residence, how long you have been away, the type of goods and the Norwegian regulations in force at the time of shipping. Options: groupage, dedicated container and air freight

Not every move needs the same thing. We tailor the option to your volume, your budget and how quickly you need it:

• Sea groupage: your furniture shares a container with other shipments heading to northern Europe. It is the most economical option, ideal for flats and apartments with a moderate volume. In return, timings depend on the shared load being completed and coordinated.
• Dedicated container: a full container (20 or 40 foot) just for you. It is the quickest, most direct option for large homes or high-volume moves, and it cuts down intermediate handling of your belongings.
• Air freight: the fastest route, designed for emergencies or for a small, priority portion of your belongings. Higher cost per kilo, but unbeatable on time.

During the initial assessment we explain which combination suits you. Many families, for example, send the bulk of the house by groupage and send ahead by air the essentials for their first few weeks in Norway.
