Removals to Fuerteventura from mainland Spain
Sea freight to Puerto del Rosario and door-to-door delivery from Corralejo to Morro Jable. Customs declaration and change-of-residence relief included.
REQUEST A QUOTEA move to Fuerteventura from the Iberian Peninsula arrives by sea at Puerto del Rosario, the island's capital, and from there is distributed across a long and dispersed territory: from Corralejo, at the northern tip, to Morro Jable, at the edge of Jandía, it's more than 100 kilometers. That geography impacts the last mile and that's precisely where you notice the advantage of having our own team in the Canary Islands. At Horizont Atlantic we've been organizing this route for more than 15 years, with a fixed price and all customs management resolved.
How your move arrives in Fuerteventura
We collect and pack at your home on the Iberian Peninsula, take the shipment to the port of embarkation and send it by sea to Puerto del Rosario. Typical transits are around 5 days from Cádiz, 6 from Valencia and 7 or 8 from Barcelona; from interior origins like Madrid or Zaragoza the overall journey is around 9 days, because the cargo is consolidated beforehand at the cross-dock. When a direct departure doesn't fit your dates, we embark via Las Palmas and make the inter-island connection to Fuerteventura within the same fixed price.
Which cities do we ship from to Fuerteventura
We collect door to door across the Iberian Peninsula. The routes with the highest volume have their own pages: Madrid to Fuerteventura, Barcelona to Fuerteventura, Valencia to Fuerteventura, Seville to Fuerteventura and Zaragoza to Fuerteventura. From any other city the process is the same; only the land route to the port varies.
Partial shipment or full container
In Fuerteventura, partial shipment is the most common option, and it has a local reason: many moves are from a secondary residence, remote work or extended stays to properties that already come furnished, so what is sent are personal belongings, work equipment, sports materials and the occasional piece of furniture. Since you only pay for the actual volume, it makes no sense to hire a full container. The exclusive container is worthwhile when you're moving an entire home or when you need a set date. We decide this based on the measured volume, not guesswork.
Where we deliver in Fuerteventura
We cover the island from north to south: Puerto del Rosario and its surroundings, the north of Corralejo and La Oliva, the central area of Caleta de Fuste and Antigua, Gran Tarajal and Tuineje, and the south of Costa Calma, Pájara, Jandía and Morro Jable. Two things we always plan in advance: actual distances, because a delivery in Morro Jable is almost two hours of driving from the port and we need to set the time slot with the customer; and the wind, which is characteristic of the island, which requires extreme care when moving bulky furniture, glass panes or boards between the truck and the building entrance. Delivery to the south is included in the fixed price, with no surcharge for distance.
DUA and tax exemption for change of residence
The DUA is mandatory for clearing any move in Fuerteventura and we process it for you. If you're moving due to a change of residence, used items qualify for exemption from IGIC and AIEM: you need to provide proof of previous registration outside the Canary Islands, register on the island and provide a valued inventory. A useful note if you're coming for remote work: the exemption requires an actual change of residence: if you maintain your tax address on the Iberian Peninsula, the move doesn't qualify for the exemption and it's good to know this before shipping, not at the port.
What the service includes
The quote includes reinforced maritime packing, disassembly and assembly of furniture, interim storage on both sides if dates don't coincide, insurance on the declared value and the option to take your car in the same container. In Fuerteventura a car is not a luxury: public transport between municipalities is limited and distances are long, so bringing your own within the move is almost always the most reasonable option. We also frequently transport surfboards, kitesurfing and windsurfing boards, which we pack with specific protection.
How much a move to Fuerteventura costs
You pay for actual volume. An average apartment of around 25 m³ in partial shipment from the Iberian Peninsula is in an indicative range of €2,000 to €2,900, slightly higher than the capital islands because many shipments include the inter-island connection. The volume, port of departure, shipping method, delivery area within the island and extras such as storage, full packing or vehicle transport all factor into the price. We provide you with an itemized fixed price quote in 24-48 hours.
If you already live in the Canary Islands
This page covers moves from the Iberian Peninsula to Fuerteventura. If you're moving from another island —Lanzarote and Gran Canaria are the most common origins—, the service is for inter-island moves. To see all island destinations from the Iberian Peninsula, return to the hub of moves to the Canary Islands.
Moves to the rest of the archipelago
If your destination is not Fuerteventura, we have a dedicated page for each island with its ports, timeframes and delivery areas: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.

The crossing is about 5 days from Cádiz, 6 from Valencia and 7 or 8 from Barcelona. From inland origins such as Madrid or Zaragoza the total is around 9 days. If you have to ship via Las Palmas and add the inter-island link, count on 2 or 3 more days. To all this add collection, packing and customs clearance.
An average flat of 25 m³ in groupage from the mainland falls into an indicative range of €2,000 to €2,900. It sits slightly above Tenerife or Gran Canaria because a fair number of sailings require the inter-island leg. The price depends on actual volume, the port of departure, the option chosen and any extras booked. Fixed quote within 24-48 hours.
No. Delivery is included in the fixed price anywhere on the island, including the far south. The only thing that changes is the organisation: from Puerto del Rosario to Morro Jable is nearly two hours' drive, so we agree a specific time slot with you for unloading rather than giving a vague "sometime in the morning" that does not hold up.
Only if there is an effective change of residence. The relief that exempts you from IGIC and AIEM requires evidence of your previous registered address outside the Canaries and that you register on the island. If you keep your address on the mainland and are coming for a season, the removal does not qualify for the exemption. We tell you at the quoting stage so you can decide with the real cost in front of you.
Yes, it is very common cargo on this route. We pack surf, kitesurf and windsurf boards, bicycles and sports equipment with dedicated protection for sea transport and include them in the same shipment. They go into the valued inventory and are covered by the insurance, just like the rest of your belongings.
In Fuerteventura, almost always. Public transport between municipalities is limited and distances are long: more than 100 km from Corralejo to Morro Jable. We ship it in a closed container, within the same customs declaration and the same quote as the removal. If your shipment is already travelling in an exclusive container and there is space left, using it works out considerably cheaper than a separate vehicle transport.
