Package of 5 kg of kraft paper in sheets, unprinted.
It does two jobs that bubble wrap doesn't do well: separate pieces from each other (plates, glasses, pans) and fill gaps so nothing moves inside the box. Movement inside the box is what breaks the dishes, not the impact from outside.
Being paper without ink, it doesn't stain crockery or glass, which newspaper does. For a complete kitchen, you're looking at about 5 kg; if you also wrap decorations and figurines, double that.
